JAIL INFORMATION
West Valley Detention Center is San Bernardino County's main jail facility. It has been open since June 1991. Located near the I-10 and I-15 freeways in Rancho Cucamonga. You can reach the detention center on 4th street or Etiwanda Ave. It is used primarily to house pre-sentenced county inmates, however, some inmates do serve county sentences at the facility. West Valley Detention Center processes approximately 50,000 inmates yearly, making it one of the busiest facilities in California.
CAPACITY
The jail is capable of housing 3,347 inmates daily, making it one of the largest county jails in California. The facility employees over 600 men and women, who are dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment. West Valley processes over 50,000 inmates yearly.
INMATE SERVICES
West Valley has over 600 employees on staff in various fields including maintenance crews, medical professionals, culinary staff, and a variety of support positions.
There are health professionals are on duty 24/7 and the jail provides a full range of services including daily physician sick calls, psychiatric care, medical treatments including dialysis, radiology services, dental care and medication administration,.
REMOTE COURT ARRAIGNMENTS
The County of San Bernardino offers video court via the Detention Center. Usually video court only takes place for arrestees first appearance. Otherwise, inmates are bused to court.
